Videojet® BX6500/6600 Graphics Printers Deliver Seamless Function, High Print Quality
For Immediate Release
WOOD DALE, Ill. (USA) – November 9, 2007 – New Videojet® BX6500 and BX6600 binary array graphics printers from Videojet Technologies Inc are designed for seamless, high-quality printing of addresses, bar codes, maps and promotional messaging on direct mail pieces, loyalty cards and a wide range of other applications. The printers utilize the new Windows® XP-based Crescendo System Controller, a, highly intuitive operator interface that provides enhanced image processing for improved handling of complex images, shorter setup and simplified operation.
The enhanced functionality of the new Crescendo System Controller expands the range of jobs customers can accept. The system controller supports fully configurable barcodes including Data Matrix, PDF417, Code 128, German Premium, POSTNET, Intelligent Mail® Barcode (One Code) and PLANET Code®. A virtually unlimited number of variable graphics are easily incorporated into print jobs, and features such as PDF proofing and Auto Address Block significantly reduce set up time. The improved image rendering provided by the system controller enables even complex images to be printed the fastest line speeds. Uptime is maximized by an automatic phasing process that optimizes print quality without any operator intervention.
“The Crescendo System Controller provides an interface with a consistent look and feel to that of the Videojet G4100 digital imaging system, minimizing operator training time for current G4100 users,” says Jason Lund, Videojet graphics product manager. “This new operating system allows for a more common interface across the product line, resulting in quicker and easier adoption for both new and existing Videojet graphics customers.”
The single-printhead BX6500 prints images up to 2 inches tall (51 mm), while the dual-head BX6600 prints up to 4 inches tall (102 mm). Like other models in Videojet’s BX series, they are capable of achieving the fastest throughput demands, including line speeds up to 967 feet per minute and printing of more than 50,000 mail pieces per hour with in-line automatic mail sorting. A computer-initiated start-up sequence minimizes manual operator procedures and accesses the print mode within minutes. Print shut down is just as simple, via a limited amount of mouse clicks.
The launch of the BX 6500/6600 models presents the opportunity to upgrade existing BX 6300/6400 units. The upgrade consists of replacing an existing BX controller with the Crescendo controller as well as switching out specific boards within the printer engine. The result is an enhanced BX printing system that allows customers to save time through additional controller features and to take on more complex and demanding jobs.
